Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for Agniveer Vayu (Musician) Recruitment under Intake 01/2026. Both unmarried male and female candidates from all across India can apply. The selection will be done through a recruitment rally to be held from 10 to 18 June 2025 at New Delhi and Bengaluru. Candidates can choose two preferences during registration, but final allotment is at the discretion of CASB.
Age Limit
- Born between: 01 January 2005 to 01 July 2008 (both dates inclusive).
- Maximum Age at enrolment: 21 years
Educational Qualification
- Passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent from a recognized board with minimum pass marks.
Music Ability & Experience
- Proficiency in tempo, pitch, singing a complete song, and reading notations (Staff, Tablature, Tonic Solfa, Hindustani, Carnatic).
- Ability to tune instruments and match notes.
- Must play one instrument from List A or B (preferably two — one from each):
List A Instruments: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Tuba
List B Instruments: Keyboard, Guitar, Violin, Drums, Indian Classical Instruments
- Experience Certificate: Any of the following:
- Grade 5 or above from recognized music institutes (TCL, RSM, Berklee etc.)
- Diploma in Hindustani/Carnatic music
- Awards/Participation in music events

Selection Process
- Proficiency Test (Musical Instruments)
- English Written Test (30 questions, 30 mins, 10th CBSE level)
- Adaptability Test-I & II
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Male: 1.6 km run in 7 mins, 10 pushups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats
- Female: 1.6 km run in 8 mins, 10 sit-ups, 15 squats
- Medical Examination
