The Supreme Court of India has released an official notification inviting online applications for multiple prestigious posts in its Registry. This recruitment drive includes positions in the Supreme Court Reports, the Supreme Court Museum, and the Library Cadre. Eligible Indian citizens who fulfill the prescribed qualifications as on 01.03.2026 can apply online within the given dates. Vacancy Details, Age Limit & Qualification

1. Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports

Total Posts: 05 (UR)
Pay Level: Level 12 (Initial Basic Pay ₹78,800/- + Allowances)
Age Limit: 30 to 40 years

Essential Qualification:
• Degree in Law recognized by the Bar Council of India or any State Bar Council for enrolment as an Advocate
OR Member of the English Bar
OR Attorney of High Court in India
• Knowledge of computer operation

Experience (Any one of the following):
• Minimum 3 years practice as an Advocate in High Court/Supreme Court
• Minimum 3 years judicial post
• 3 years research experience in Law
• 3 years as Law Reporter or Editorial staff of reputed law reports
• 3 years as Lecturer in Law
• 7 years service including minimum 4 years in Class-II Gazetted post in Supreme Court/High Court

2. Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum

Total Posts: 01 (UR)
Pay Level: Level 11 (Initial Basic Pay ₹67,700/- + Allowances)
Age Limit: 30 to 40 years

Qualification:
• Master’s Degree in Museology with First Class
• Knowledge of Indian antiquities, museum techniques, publications and educational activities
• Knowledge of computer operation

Experience:
• Minimum 5 years research experience with documentary evidence in a museum of standing or comparable institution

3. Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum

Total Posts: 02 (UR)
Pay Level: Level 8 (Initial Basic Pay ₹47,600/- + Allowances)
Upper Age Limit: 35 years

Qualification:
• Master’s Degree in Museology with minimum 55% marks
• Knowledge of computer operation

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years research experience in Museology (preferably exhibitions and educational programmes)
OR
• 2 years experience as Assistant Curator or above in a Museum

4. Assistant Librarian

Total Posts: 14 (UR-10, SC-3, ST-1)
Pay Level: Level 8 (Initial Basic Pay ₹47,600/- + Allowances)
Upper Age Limit: 30 years

Qualification:
• Degree in Library Science
• Diploma in Computer Application (AICTE/DOEACC recognized or equivalent) or Library Automation Course
• Knowledge of library automation software, cataloging, acquisition, circulation, and database search

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a recognized University Library/Law Library

Selection Process

Assistant Editor

• Written Test (Part A: Precis & Editorial Skills – 100 Marks, Part B: Law & Constitution – 100 Marks)
• Interview (25 Marks)

Minimum qualifying marks apply in each stage.

Assistant Director / Senior Court Assistant / Assistant Librarian

• Written Test (Objective + Subjective – 100 Marks)
• Computer Test (Qualifying in nature; for Assistant Librarian it carries 100 marks with qualifying criteria)
• Interview (25 Marks)

Candidates will be shortlisted in prescribed ratios for further stages.

Test Cities

Written tests will be conducted at:
• Delhi/NCR
• Mumbai
• Kolkata
• Chennai

The interview will be conducted in Delhi only. Candidates must select their preferred city while applying.
